Edward & Hayley - An Intimate Day
“Welcome to the family.”
A phrase we hear at many engagement parties and weddings.
Family can look different for a lot of people. It can look like friends who have traveled down a dark path together. A sibling who acted as a parent. An older couple who filled in as grandparents. A boss who showed you the ropes and help mold you.
Whatever your family looks like it is usually always tied together with love.
Love doesn’t mean you all agree.
Love doesn’t mean there is always going to be laughter.
Love means you want what is best for that person.
Love means you forgive.
Love means you’re selfless.
To me one of the beauties of “family” is that you have many different personalities, backgrounds, and thoughts woven together in a bond that will sustain. A bond that will protect.
Edward and Hayley had plans of a larger wedding but they decided they couldn’t wait any longer and wanted to get married as soon as they could.
I stepped into the church and was greeted with laughter and a firm handshake.
The immediate family members were all there fellowshipping before the arrival of the beautiful bride.
On the first day of Spring with a simple intimate ceremony Edward and Hayley became husband and wife. The families grew and celebrated the love these two share.
After the ceremony both families went to the bride’s family home for lunch and cake. The bride’s childhood home where she grew up, got ready for many different events over the years, and just earlier that day - got ready for her wedding.
The home was filled with stories, laughter, and joy. Two families became one. Both welcoming, both loving, and both celebrating the same couple.
Edward & Hayley thank you so much for sharing your families with me on such a special day. May the years come be full of true love. The love that doesn’t always agree but the love that will continue to support and allow you to grow together as a couple.
All the best. Cheers to your next adventure,
Steph
