Elopements
Elopement or Traditional?
First off. It is your day so stay true to your love story and what makes you get excited!
Second. If you have found the right person to say “I do” to all the rest would be what I call, extra sprinkles! So try not to stress about matching table clothes and HAVE FUN!
Traditional weddings might not be for everyone. Elopements might not be for everyone. Maybe a mixture of both is what you want. Whatever it is figure that out and stick to it.
If you think an elopement is your vibe then keep reading!
The beautiful thing about elopements is that they truly are a BLANK CANVAS…you can do whatever you want to do!
Want to explore a new city - do it!
Want to rent a jeep adventure - rent it!
Want to plan brunch with your girls to start the day - plan it!
Want to dance under the stars - dance away!
Want to exchange vows on a bluff - do it!
The options are endless. I will always remind you to book a photographer to tag along to your events as your personal paparazzi!
Elopement Tips:
Find a photographer who is up for adventure and moving.
Call parks to check for any restrictions (yes some won’t let you bring in live flowers).
Think of your must have moments - do you want to share vows with a small group or alone, do you want a formal reception after, what area do you want to be in for your vows, etc.
If you know a specific location for your vows make sure you are able to get there and maybe have a plan B just incase.
Bring a map and charged phone - be sure all people know the exact location of events esp if there is no service.
Pack extra clothes and socks.
Pack your flowers properly - you might have to prop them up inside your bag to not harm them during transporting.
Think of an elopement announcement to still include the loved on in your lives.
Plan for changing in a remote area if there are not bathrooms or they are closed - you might want to bring a sheet for privacy depending on location.
Don’t forge the details - bring them! We will still grab photos of your details!
Plan your food and pack some snacks.
Make it you - what are things you LOVE to do together as a couples
ignore the “Debbie Downers” - if is your day you are going to look back on this day forever, make it how you want it.
LIVE IN THE MOMENT - this is another reason why having a photographer is VITAL…don’t worry about documenting the day or posting the epic update right away…put the phone away and be in the moment.
Tap into your kid side. HAVE THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE!
