Justine & Sam

A Medford New Jersey Wedding

The elders gathered around the couple and laid their hands on them as prayers were said for the about to be new Mr & Mrs. Prayers of thanksgiving, blessings, and future guidance.

I love all the personalities that shine through on wedding day and for Sam and Justine their wedding was a day to celebrate their Lord and give thanks to Him for the blessing of marriage.

These kinds of weddings always make me pause and reflect. A couple that honors God and keeps His truths, commands, and love first seems harder and harder to find these days. It is such a sweet relationship, unlike any other. When God is allowed into a couple’s relationship all I can do is cheer.

This doesn’t mean the couple is set up for zero challenges. No. Quite the opposite actually. Their relationship will be tested. Daily. However, what it does mean is that these two are rooted in something deeper. Establishing a relationship that they will not give up on, one they will work hard for, one that will cause them to hit their knees in prayer…together. When God is invited in there is something bigger connecting them to a hope that is indescribable.

Sam and Justine have invited God in not only on their wedding day but in every area of their relationship.

Justine put on a fairy tale gown complete with all the accessories. She and her girls all dawned in white represented the church. They lit their lanterns and waited the groom. If you don’t know the connection maybe it is time to pick up your Bible (or borrow mine!) and read some of the New Testament.

Sam in his tweed vest waited for his bride in the Medford Community House. The detail in this building set the stage for a stunning combination of old and new. Sam and Justine looked like a royal couple.

The couple wanted to praise God for His help in their relationship thus far and before saying I do the couple sat down with their guests for a few powerful songs. Tears of joy filled many eyes as the entire company of guests broke out in song along with their band. Being surrounded and supported by believers is such a powerful way to start off your life as husband and wife.

After a deep message from the preacher, vows, and the first kiss; the couple and their guests proceeded to a the reception hall. Winter decor dressed up a bare dancehall into a fairytale ending.

Justine is a bride after my own heart…everyone enjoyed a gluten free, dairy free meal and desserts. Before heading out as the new Mr & Mrs all the guests lined up and created a cheer tunnel for the couple to pass through.

Sam & Justine, thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to get to know you better and celebrate you. Continue to keep God first in your relationship. During times of frustrations, take a breath and offer it up to God before proceeding. Continue to date one another, laugh at the little things, and stay committed to growing together. Your relationship will change as you grow together and that is the beauty of marriage. Savor each stage, moment, and adventure. Continue to go to God together and dig into His word together.

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12

All the best,

Steph
