Grant + Sarah / A Southern Mansion Wedding
As soon as dad started talking, mom’s eyes weld up, holding back tears. Transported back to a moment that only they shared. The night they became parents. The night they became a family. The night dad met his little girl.
Saturday was the day parents pray comes as a blessing. The giving away of their little girl. So that she can start her own family, her own memories, and her future.
Sarah was a princess Saturday in a simply stunning ball gown. She walked the halls of the Woodruff-Fontaine home in her satin ball gown with a smile on her face the entire time. Sarah and her husband, Grant, where such an easy going, fun loving couple. The rich wood, stained glass, and stairwell complemented their love.
As we were nearing the hour of ceremony the heavens opened and graced our day with rain. Sarah did not hesitate but adjusted and hoped the rain ended for the ceremony. Thankfully it stopped in time for the couple to hold their ceremony outside under the 1800 architecture of the home. Other buildings could be found on the grounds like the carriage house and gingerbread house. This venue was the perfect location for an arts loving bride like Sarah.
Sarah has always been artistic. She is always painting or sewing something new. Her wedding day screamed do it yourself. Each sign was created with care by hand, by Sarah. Each guest walked away with a one of a kind Sarah planter to hold your personal succulent. Each planter was unique and different. Her bridesmaids all had personal items created just for them by Sarah. Her welcome sign which had a hand drawn photo of the mansion on it. Dried herbs hung all over the reception area which was held in the root cellar. Collected antique bottles lined the tables. Family photos graced the mantels. Everywhere you looked a creation by Sarah could be found.
I always encourage couples to stay true to themselves during their wedding day. Sarah and Grant had so many unique moments throughout their day. From a brother sister first look to a specialized coffee bar for their guests. Their favorite things could be seen all throughout wedding day. Sarah had a sweet brother sister first look, genuine daddy daughter first look, and magical groom’s first look. Each moment became sweeter and sweeter.
Sarah and Grant were surrounded by so many loving friends and family. A few strangers even stopped to watch the ceremony and the love that radiated from the front yard of the mansion. Having so many people join in on such a magical day in love and support is such a blessing.
We fellowshipped, laughed, and savored each moment of the day. We all gathered in the root cellar for speeches by the maid of honor, best man, father of the bride, mother of the groom, and grandmother of the groom. Each one of them mentioned the couples love for God, love for others, and love for one another.
Sarah and Grant, it was such an honor being with you and celebrating you both on wedding day. You two are amazing people who truly will show the love of God to whomever you meet. Continue to laugh at the small things, meditate on the big things, and pray about all things. A special shout out to all the vendors who made this day as magical as it was!
