Anna & Matt
A Southern Dream Wedding
Hullabaloo, Caneck! Caneck!
Hullabaloo, Caneck! Caneck!
When you and your fiancé are Texas A&M graduates you know you will be witnessing their war hymn by the end of their wedding. I am surprised Anna and Matt didn’t bust out with the hymn during their ceremony but waited for their reception!
Anna and Matt said I do under the shade of an old tree behind a beautiful Pecan Estate. It was a hot Houston May but the shade cooled off their guests as they sang together and were reminded of the great Christian bond of what is marriage.
Anna was stunning in her high neck lace gown and Matt was handsomely dressed in his suit and boots. The bridal party surrounded them in a sea of light blue as they watched their dear friends make a lifetime commitment to one another.
A delicious appetizer hour and dinner awaited their guests as they moved from the cool shade to a beautiful reception hall. Laughter could be heard all night as family grew. Of course all the Aggies were brought to the center of the reception hall for a true Texas tradition, the war hymn. Bride & Groom had a private moment before leaving under the tunnel of Aggie towels toward their future.
This classy wedding had so many personal touches all throughout the day. Matt and Anna are headed into a love rooted in Aggie love with God as the guiding beacon.
Anna and Matt’s wedding was extra special for me. You see, Anna is a little cousin. Family for us is rooted deep in faith, fun and a peaceful love. Whenever we are together stories are passed down of the “good ol’ days” and new memories are being created. Our family reminds one another of our love through action. Young and old interact together, play together, pray together, and support one another. We are spread all over the country but when we get together it is like no time was ever lost. Anna is a cousin full of love, determination, and dedication. She is always there for family get togethers. Her laughter is contagious. Her achievements and hard work amaze me. One of my favorite memories was during a family reunion in Alabama. Anna and I played cards in the living area for what seemed like hours. I don’t remember if it was an organized game or if we made up our own but we were having fun either way.
That is what I love about my family and why #everydayadventures can happen and are so important. It doesn’t matter what we are doing or what is going on in the moment - we are together to laugh, support, and remind one another that we love them…without words being needed.
Anna, I am so glad you found your Aggie to do life with. Matt, you have found a very special women who will support you the rest of your life. I cannot wait to get to know you more! Keep God first, study together, pray together, and share his love as a couple with others. Remember to always find a reason to smile. Help one another find that smile on the difficult days, don’t take one another too seriously, and enjoy the adventure!
